Keep the build true to what the business decided, and get people working the new way.
Phase 4 Value Assurance — Support through the build
From £5,000 a month · the length of the build, often three to nine months · prices exclude VAT
A senior, independent owner of the specification on your side during the build, and of the change in how the work is done. Formalus does not write code or configure platforms, so it has no reason to let scope drift. Two tracks run together: build integrity checks the build against the journeys your people designed; adoption makes sure the people who run the work actually use the new decision rules.
Is the build preserving the approved value case, and are people actually working the new way?
The value case assumes behaviour changes. If advisers override the new retention rules, or buyers ignore the contribution check, the build can be perfect and the return still zero. Your implementation partner is paid to deliver working software, not changed behaviour. Value Assurance covers both, in two tracks.
Build integrity
- Build oversight. Requirements traced from touchpoint to specification to release, reviews at sprint or release boundaries, and a ruling on any change that touches an approved decision or the value case.
- Testing and validation. Acceptance scenarios written from the Value Map journey work, decision-rule and trigger tests, and measures tested against the locked baseline before go-live.
- Launch and measurement. A phased roll-out plan, a go-live readiness gate, post-launch support, and dashboards your team can run without Formalus.
Adoption and operating-model change
- Role-by-role change impact, taken from the target operating model in Value Blueprint: what each role now decides, with which rule, measured how.
- A champions network drawn from the people who mapped the journeys in Value Map. They designed the change, so they carry it.
- Manager-led adoption. Team leaders are coached to run the new decision rules in their own team meetings.
- “How the work now runs” playbooks for each affected role, written with your partner’s system training so the two do not conflict.
- Adoption measures as leading indicators of return: usage, rule adherence, override rate and time to decision, reported monthly beside build integrity.
- An operating-model transition plan: the sequence of role, process and decision-rights changes, with HR involved wherever roles change.
Both tracks are included in every proposal by default. The published price covers build integrity; the adoption track is scoped to the number of roles affected, and is left out only where you already have a proven change team.
Who does what with your implementation partner
| Activity | Formalus | Implementation partner | Your organisation |
|---|---|---|---|
| System training (how to use the tool) | Reviews it against the playbooks | Designs and delivers | Schedules and attends |
| New ways of working (rules, decision rights) | Designs and leads | Aligns system training | Approves |
| Training delivery at scale | Runs the first waves with champions | Supports system content | Learning and development delivers the rest |
| Champions network | Designs and runs | Briefs champions on releases | Nominates champions |
| Adoption measurement | Defines and reports | Provides usage data | Owns the targets |
| Role and organisation changes | Advises | None | HR leads and consults |
Formalus does not run training at scale, HR consultation, internal communications or the programme plan.
Value Assurance protects the decisions. It does not run the programme.
Your programme lead and your technology partner’s project manager own plans, actions, risks, resourcing and status reporting. Formalus answers to the executive who approved the investment.
| Value Assurance does | Value Assurance does not |
|---|---|
| Hold the approved decisions, rules and value case | Run the project plan or chase actions |
| Review sprint and release outputs against the specification | Attend daily stand-ups or run status meetings |
| Rule on changes that touch an approved decision or the value case | Manage the partner’s delivery, people or budget |
| Write acceptance scenarios from the journey work | Run day-to-day testing |
| Lead adoption: champions, manager-led rules, role playbooks and adoption measures | Deliver system training or training at scale |
| Report monthly to the sponsor, by exception | Produce weekly status reports or risk and issue logs |
A fixed number of days a month, agreed up front; more days means a deliberate change of scope. Formalus does not build software, configure platforms, implement security controls or run your project management office.
Help choosing and aligning your delivery partner, with any interest disclosed.
Where you want it, Formalus can write the partner brief, short-list and evaluate proposals, align the statement of work to the specification and set acceptance criteria.
You contract the partner directly
The simplest route. Formalus’s time is charged within the Value Assurance fee.
A Formalus-introduced partner
Any referral fee, margin or other financial interest is disclosed in writing before you decide, and a direct-contracting option is offered wherever practical.
Partner selection does not transfer technical delivery or day-to-day programme management to Formalus. Technical architecture, configuration, integration, security implementation and operation stay with your partner.
Tested against your journeys before go-live.
Mobile operators
Next-best-action and suppression rules tested against the four customer groups before live traffic; care and outbound teams trained on the new decision rights; holdout groups set up so incrementality can be measured from day one.
Multi-site retailers
Promotion approval and stacking rules replayed against past campaigns before go-live; trading, ecommerce and store teams working to one set of contribution definitions.
Membership organisations
Nursery triggers, health-score thresholds and renewal value statements tested against real member scenarios; relationship managers trained on the new alerts.
A live change that matches what the business decided.
One monthly report to your sponsor, covering both tracks: is the build true to the decisions, and are people working the new way?
- Traceability matrix
- Assurance reviews
- Change assessments
- Acceptance scenarios
- Role-by-role change impact
- Champions network
- “How the work now runs” playbooks
- Monthly adoption measures
- Go-live readiness review
- Measurement handover
A specification handed over the wall, a partner configuring to its own reading of it, and staff meeting the new system at launch.
A live operating change that matches the decisions, tested against real journeys, used by the people who helped design it, and measurable from day one.
Decision gate. Go-live readiness is accepted and Value Assurance formally ends. Phase 5 Value Ledger starts only after this point, so the two are never charged together. Adoption reinforcement for the first 90 days after go-live continues in the first quarter of Value Ledger.
One step in the Formalus Value Architecture.
You commit to one step at a time, never to the whole path. Each step ends with a decision your leadership owns.
