Measure what is at stake with your own numbers, in one day.
Phase 1 Value Focus — Executive Sizing Day
£2,500 · one day on site · credited in full against a Value Map · prices exclude VAT
The free assessment estimates the opportunity from your sector. Value Focus measures it with your numbers. In one day with your finance lead and the owner of the decision, we turn about twelve of your own figures into a value range you can defend, and decide together whether a Value Map is worth commissioning.
How much is at stake in one commercial decision, and is a Value Map worth it?
Value Focus is the first time your own figures are used. It starts from the indicative figure in your free assessment and rebuilds it driver by driver, replacing each sector assumption with your number. If your figures move the estimate up or down, that change is itself a finding.

The free assessment estimates from your sector. Value Focus measures it with your numbers.
One week of light pre-work, one day together, one report.
We build a first-cut model before we arrive, so the day is spent testing it against your figures, not collecting them.
- Pre-workOne week beforeYou complete a one-page template of headline figures for your sector, about two hours for most finance teams. We build the first-cut model from it.
- Test the modelMorningWith your finance director and the owner of the decision: every assumption checked against your numbers and corrected in the room.
- Data checkMiddayCan the business answer the questions a Value Map will ask? Each is marked yes, partly or no, so you know early where evidence is thin.
- Agree the scopeAfternoonWith the CEO or MD: the decision area, the value range, the success measure and the scope of a Value Map.
- Report and proposalWithin five working daysA 6–8 page Value Focus report, the Value Map charter and a fixed-price proposal.
The figures we ask for, by sector.
Headline numbers your finance team already holds. Where a figure is not tracked today, we note it and work from the best available estimate.
Mobile operators
Active customer base, churn by tenure band if held, retention spend, offer take-up and average customer contribution.
Typical decision area: where retention spend goes, and to whom.
Multi-site retailers
Promoted share of sales, total discount cost, gross margin by channel and the number of promotions run each year.
Typical decision area: which promotions are approved, and on what terms.
Membership organisations
Number of members, first-year and overall lapse rates, average subscription and the cost of recruiting a new member.
Typical decision area: how members are engaged before their first renewal.
A value range that is yours, not the sector’s.
The range is labelled client-validated: built from your figures and tested with your finance lead. It is not a business case or a measured result. That comes later, from Value Map and Value Blueprint.
- Modelled value at stake: low, central, high
- Every assumption shown, sector or yours
- Data availability check
- Agreed decision area and success measure
- 6–8 page Value Focus report
- Value Map charter
- Fixed-price Value Map proposal
An indicative figure from your sector, and a six-week investigation you cannot yet justify to your board.
A value range built from your own numbers, a clear view of what data exists, and a Value Map that is already chartered, so it starts straight at interviews.
Decision gate. Your sponsor signs the Value Map charter, or stops. If your figures do not support a Value Map, we say so, and you keep the report and the model.
The £2,500 fee is credited in full against a Value Map commissioned within 60 days, so if you continue, the day costs you nothing extra.
One step in the Formalus Value Architecture.
You commit to one step at a time, never to the whole path. Each step ends with a decision your leadership owns.
